The nursery have been very busy with events over the last few months. On 14th September we helped raise money for Jeans for Genes, Jeans for Genes is the annual fundraising event for the genetic disorder community. Monkey Puzzle Billericay Raised £125 for the charity! 

The management team also did a Grab and go cake and coffee morning to say hello to the parents before their commute. Thanks to all the parents that stopped by. The management team thought it was lovely to have a little chat and see parents lovely faces again. 

We also celebrated Jamie-Lee’s Monkey Puzzle 10 year anniversary with a PJ Party Day. The staff and the children had so much fun dressing up in their comfy pyjamas all day to commemorate the occasion. 

On 28th October all the  rooms also took part in a spooky dress up day for Halloween. The children has lots of fun getting involved in lots of Halloween activities. Preschool even did a Halloween scavenger hunt! 

The preschool room have also taken a keen interest in ‘The Bear Hunt’ Story over the last month and have been doing lots of activities around this including a new room display and tuff tray story retelling. 

Babies and Toddlers have been busy exploring sensory play using a variety of media and resources, some of these include clay, playdough, shredded paper, crazy foam, colourful Halloween theme spaghetti and pumpkin pulp.

Staffing and Training

Lily and Maisie our Level 3 apprentices recently completed there paediatric first aid training with head office. The Early Years Foundation stage framework requires all Level 2 and 3 practitioners to be PFA trained, however here at Monkey Puzzle Billericay we ensure all our staff are first aid trained. 

In addition to this Mina and Maisie have recently completed baby training with head office too. This helps support them identify ways in which to support babies developing brains, describe how secure attachments are developed and their impact on learning on and development, explore how babies & young children learn through the EYFS principles and characteristics of effective learning, investigate the three EYFS prime areas of learning and strategies for developing practice with babies in each prime areas, describe how enabling environments and care routines can be used to maximise learning opportunities and also define good practice for information sharing with parents & carers. 

Paige who has been working here at Monkey Puzzle Billericay since January 2016 is moving away to Cambridgeshire. Her last day with us will be 17th November. It will be sad to say goodbye but we wish her all the best in her new chapter. We are also saying goodbye to Alex who has been working in our Preschool room for the last year.

We are delighted to welcome Aston to our Team. Aston is a Level 3 Practitioner, who has many years’ experience in nurseries and early year’s settings. She has been working in our Toddler and Baby room for the last few weeks, working with the team to support her with the transition of key children. 

Jasmin also joined the team recently as a nursery apprentice, she has lots of experience in Health and Social care and is looking forward to transferring those skills into the early year’s sector.

Staff Training Day - Friday 17th December

The nursery will be closed for staff training  

Christmas Jumper Day - Monday 20th December 

Come in wearing your Christmas jumpers to celebrate Christmas. 

Christmas Lunch - Tuesday 21st December 

Children that attend that session will have a Christmas lunch. 

Christmas Party - Wednesday 22nd December 

Children that attend that session will have a room party with a visit from our own in house Santa

Pyjama Day - Thursday 23rd  December 

Come in your PJs for the last day of nursery before Christmas. 

Nursery will be closed  from 6.30pm on 23rd December and will reopen 4th Jan
